Getting to Magnetic Island

Passenger ferries leave regularly from the Breakwater Marina, Townsville and take approximately 20 minutes to Nelly Bay. Ferry timetables and prices are available on www.sealinkqld.com.au.  Sealink's phone number is 07-4726 0800. Breakwater Marina is only 10 minutes drive from Townsville Airport and there are taxis and shuttle bus available at arrivals area at the airport. Car ferries also depart regularly if you are traveling by vehicle to the island. Magnetic Island Ferries depart from Ross Street, South Townsville and walk on passengers are also welcome.  Their phone number for bookings is 07-4796 9300 or you can their website for on-line bookings, pricing and ferry times is www.magneticislandferries.com.au. It is recommended to book the barge in advance.

Arriving at Nelly Bay

IGA supermarket is also located across from the Nelly Bay Terminal and is opened until 8.30pm every night. There are also smaller stores at Nelly Bay, Arcadia and Horseshoe Bay that close between 6pm and 7pm. You may wish to obtain some grocery items upon your arrival at Nelly Bay to take to your accommodation if this time is convenient.

The Magnetic Island Taxi Service provides maxi cabs and taxis outside the Terminal (or pre-arrange pick up by telephone 07-4426 2885 and the Magnetic Bus Service has buses departing the terminal soon after each ferry’s arrival.

Check in

The scheduled check-in is from 2.00pm.  During busy periods, some weekends and peak seasons, check in may be postponed to 3pm.  Late check ins are accepted and porch lights will be left on if notified by incoming guests. Specific instructions, key codes, vehicle access and entry doors will be sent prior to your arrival date.

Check out

Check-out is 10:00am.  Please close all windows and doors and lock and secure the home/unit as best as possible before your departure.

Linen

All bed linen and bath towels are supplied. This includes bed linen, blankets, bath towels, foot towels and tea towels.  Pool/Beach towels are only supplied to properties with a swimming pool.

Inclusions

You will need to provide your own food and personal items required for your stay.  The accommodation is presented on a self-catering basis.  We do provide a small complimentary (starter pack) supply of toilet paper, guest soaps, dishwashing liquid, tea coffee & sugar, dishcloth & garbage liner for your convenience.

Groceries and On-line Grocery Orders

IGA supermarket is located across at the Nelly Bay Ferry Terminal and is opened until 8.30pm every night. You may wish to obtain some grocery items upon your arrival at Nelly Bay to take to your accommodation.  There are also smaller convenience and grocery stores at Nelly Bay, Horseshoe Bay and Arcadia that close between 6pm and 7pm.

Take the time out of going grocery shopping when you arrive.  For super convenience and great service, our own local Foodworks Supermarket, Nelly Bay has an on-line grocery shopping facility.  You can do your shopping on line before your arrival.  The order is delivered to your holiday accommodation on the day of your arrival or any time during your stay.  There is no extra charge for the delivery and they even put the cold things away.  Do your shopping today on www.magneticislandsupermarket.com.au.  Alternatively you can on-line order from Coles and Woolworths as they deliver to the Island.
